GAMES FOR THE DOGS: Go for the Distance - Finding the dog who can go the furthest on a retrieve. Starting at 30 yds. then advancing at 10 yd. intervals. Bring your own toy or a bumper can be used. Dash for Cash - Each dog has to run out, retrieve, and get back over a line (does not have to come to hand). The retrieve will be a 25-30 yd. retrieve. The winner will get half the pot and the other half goes to NY Chessie Rescue efforts. The famous and fun Water Race - Two dogs will swim across a pond chasing a bumper that is being reeled from the other side (yes, those garden hose reels come in handy!). The dog that hits shore first is the winner of the heat. And each winner keeps competing in until the final winner is found. Must be at least two handlers for each dog - one to send the dog, the other to pick up the dog on the other side. Fun for kids to help out. Other games to be determined. Check back! |
