We HIGHLY suggest if you're even thinking about coming to the Chessie Fun
Weekend to book rooms NOW. The Finger Lakes region is a very big tourist area so places
book up quickly. At NY CBR Rescue headquarters, we are offering FREE self-contained
camping for trailers, motor homes or tents. There will be porta-potties on the grounds,
some water, no electrical for hookups but...lots of space. NY CBR Rescue has
about 30 acres of fields with no neighbors close by, kennels, a 2-acre pond, and
a breathtaking view of the distant lake hills. For those of you who don't want to rough it, we have a
list of several motels and a camp ground near by. NY CBR Rescue is located at 2870 Chase Road
about 5 miles north of Watkins Glen, right off of Rte. 14, the main road
(2-lanes for the most part) running along the

(Heather, the webmaster, has stayed at Golden Knight and Rainbow Cove. Golden Knight is
the closest motel to NY CBR Rescue, dog friendly, good beds and includes a continental
breakfast. Rainbow is about 12 miles from the Chessie Weekend, just off Rte. 14, right on lake, nice
grounds to walk a dog, dog friendly, about $20 more expensive than Golden Knight, cozy
on-site restaurant. Webmaster also walked over from Rainbow to Show Boat which is also
right on the lake and is open early for coffee. Some area motels will have a two-night
minimum stay on weekends and specific details regarding dogs in rooms or on
grounds so check into accommodations EARLY. Please be kind to area motels
so we can come back! We never leave a dog in a room and never let a dog on the
bed. We also bring extra towels just for the dog. Feeding outside is best too. If you're not sure how to handle the dog/motel mixture,
